Melbourne 2022

If you can handle the cold Melbourne winters then stick around for this one! In July 2022 I ventured down to Melbourne VIC, Australia and it was amazing 🙂 Whenever I fly into a place I always try to arrive in the morning so I can enjoy the entire day there instead of a half day or just a night time, so I did exactly that. I arrived at 7am in Melbourne and the winter adventure began!

Must take photo opportunity just outside the airport terminals

I have to give a shout out to Melbourne Airports Uber system cause it is on a whole other level in comparison to Sydney, like wow! It’s also probably the most convenient way to get to your hotels if you don’t mind spending a little bit of money (the Uber drivers will normally give you a little run down of things to do in the city aswell which is so awesome 🙂)

During this trip we stayed at the Quincy Hotel which I have to say was very nice! We were given $60 complementary mini bar and there was a pool and gym to use during your stay. It is also in close proximity to the CBD and just inside the free tram line which was very helpful. If you are looking for a cute yet affordable place to stay this one might be for you

The main reason for this trip was the Manchester United vs Melbourne Victory game at the MCG which was the most AMAZING experience ever. If you are ever considering coming to this amazing city for a sporting event I highly recommend it, the crowds are crazy fun! I even got to see the team pre match file into their bus to head to the game.

Lucky chance to see the Manchester United players and busses!

Some of the other things I loved in this city were:

1- Holey Moley on Little Bourke Street: There are a few different Holey Moley’s scattered around Melbourne but the one closest to our hotel was Little Bourke St. Now when you are walking to this one you might get a little lost as the entryway is down a little alleyway (don’t be scared tho!). If you live mini golf and cool cocktails this is the place for you. We had a massive cocktail inside a trophy (it was so yum – your gonna wanna see the photo at the bottom)

2- Shopping: The shopping in Melbourne is ADDICTIVE. I definitely spent wayyy too much money on the first day there but hey no ragrets am I right? If your planning to shop on your trip make sure you allow for it in your travel budget or if your not about that budget life then go crazy!

3- Melbourne Zoo: I found that the quickest way to get to Melbourne Zoo was a $20 Uber from where we were staying and it was more than worth it. I definitely think if you have time to fill in or love animals this should be a stop for you. There are over 320 different species of animals in very cute little habitats and you can see all this for about $40!

4- Queen Victoria Markets: This one was an unforeseen addition to my trip’s itinerary but was so worth it. These markets are absolutely adorable and have so many handmade little goodies. Take a walk through and grab something to eat from the food trucks for a nice lunch (I sure did)

5- The Crown Casino: The Casino is probably one of the more iconic places to visit in Melbourne and I definitely understand why! The Casino is full of life till the sun rises whether your having a little gamble, drinking the signature supersized cocktails or have a dance at the many music venues in the upper levels. If you like any kind of fun, go here.

Pro Tip: As non members of Melbourne Zoo you are unable to it tickets at the door and have to pre book online to ensure entry 🙂
